What Does this blood Test Result Mean?
I am a diabetic who s A1C has been going down. The results from the latest blood test was 6.1. However, total cholesterol was 241 HDL Cholesterol 64; Triglycerides 113 and LDL - Cholesterol 154 with a Non HDL Cholesterol 177. Can t understand why these readings are out of range when the A1C is going down.

A1c is glycosylated hemoglobin level in blood. It indicates control of blood sugar over previous three months. So it is indicator of long term blood sugar control . Now your cholesterol levels are increasing that might be due to recent increase dar intake or irregular diet habits. Insulin controls all lipid levels but when taken regularly it is anabolic hormone and leads to increase synthesis of lipids in blood and hence explains increase lipid levels in blood.
